Documentary Photography 2012/13

Here are my final images, after all the feedback and comments, for the 24/7 assignment on my grandmother, Glenda Jones. Critical Evaluation With regards to my 24/7 project, on my Grandmother, Glenda Jones, there are a few aspects of the project which I would have like to have changed, but overall, I am happy with my final selection of images and I do feel I documented the 24 hours of my grandmother’s life quite well. To begin, and I believe this to have been the main issue when it came to this project, I really should have taken more photographs and gone back on several more days. This can be said about all projects, but I do feel this would have made a huge difference to my selection of final images. It would have given me a larger selection of images to choose from, and given me a larger mixture, showing every aspect of my grandmother’s day. "Hi! How would you like to help me with my University Project?" And these lovely strangers said yes. Here are my final photographs for my Street Portrait Assignment. I was extremely nervous when approaching strangers to photograph. It was difficult to find the approachable strangers, who might have been more than happy to help, although it did take me a long time to approach the first person I photographed, but in the end I forced myself to do it, especially as I was running out of time because I'd put it off for so long, simply down to my nerves. After asking the third or fourth person, it became easier to accept rejection and moving on.  I was very surprised how many people actually said yes! To begin, I asked people if they had a spare minute, but this gave them a chance to say they were busy, so I changed my opening line to "How would you like to help me with my university project?" Final Photographs For Journey To University Here are my final 22 selected photographs which I have used for my final submission.  I am overall very happy with my photographs. There were a large selection to choose from, which does make a change to how my usual work goes. It was also quite an organised selection of work, I knew the order all of my work went, and it was simple to put together for the final selection. I also found it very interesting looking for the various shapes on my route to University. I still look for these shapes today as I go along.
